Attorney at Law, licensed to practice before the Hellenic Supreme Court. Ioannis Lixouriotis is a Professor of Labour Law at the General Law Department of Panteion University, with a teaching career spanning a period of over 20 years at the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace. He studied at the Law Schools of the Universities of Athens and Paris X - Nanterre.

He has taught, and currently teaches, at the postgraduate departments (Masters programmes) of other universities (Athens University of Economics, University of Macedonia, University of Crete, Aegean University, and Université XIII Paris Nord). Since 2000, he also teaches Labour Law at the National School of Judges.

Since 1995, he has been a member of the editing committee of the legal Journal ‘Business and Company Law’, and he previously was Editorial Director of the Journal ‘Labour Law Review’ (1988-1994) and a member of the editing committee of the Journal ‘Business enterprise’ (2005-2008).

From 2001 to 2004, he was a member of the High Labour Council of the Ministry of Employment & Social Protection, and also, a member of numerous law drafting and other committees and working groups in the same Ministry.

In addition, Ioannis Lixouriotis served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Greek Society of Labour Law and Social Security for several years (EDEKA).

From 1992 to 2010, he was a Mediator and Arbitrator of Collective Labour Law Disputes in the Organisation for Mediation & Arbitration (OMED).

Professor Lixouriotis has rich scientific and literary activity in the field of labour law and industrial relations: he has participated in numerous national and international conferences, working groups, seminars, etc. and is the author of many academic textbooks, dozens of articles in legal journals, scientific periodicals and the daily press, together with hundreds of legal opinions, comments and observations. He has also been the editor of a number of legal publications.

He provides legal advisory services and prepares legal opinions with respect to all matters relating to labour law and industrial relations.
